One of the biggest ways we saved money on our off-grid homestead solar install was to buy 280AH Lithium Iron Phosphate battery cells directly from China via Alibaba. In fact we only spent about $130/kwh for our 28kwh of storage – or about $3,800. However, buying this way can feel sketchy because of the 2-3 month lead time to receive them. Now some Alibaba companies are setting up US based warehouses that stock Grade A REPT, EVE, and CATL LiFePO4 cells that can delivered to you within 3-7 days, removing one of the biggest pain points of this process.
