Joshua Tree Car Wash

A quick walk-through of the “Carwash” in Joshua Tree. Located miles from Pinto Basin Road in Joshua Tree National Park and accessible only by hiking on foot is the “car wash” – a wash, full of old abandoned cars from the 1940’s and 1950s. Nobody knows how the cars got there or why they were left in the wash making it an even more incredible find in the middle of the desert.
The exact location of the Car Wash is a closely guarded secret. If you know where the car wash is, please help preserve it by not giving away it’s location and remember that even though you could drive an off-road vehicle to the Car Wash, because it is in the boundaries of the Joshua Tree National Park, the fines for leaving the road are steep. Everything in the car wash area is also protected – meaning you cannot take any souvenirs home with you other than photos.
