The will be the first in a series of videos focusing on the DX Commander expedition portable antenna kit, I plan to film the construction as well as testing.
In this video I take a look at what’s in the box plus a closer look at the Expedition pole which I got to test the ability to load handling by suspending a heavy gauge 20m wire to work 80m.
This is almost the same as the regular All-Band Vertical “Classic” that created DX Commander in the first place, but the pole is only 65 cms long in it’s compact form to allow ease of travel / back-pack etc. There are many more sections to create the whole 31 feet (or so) but main section is the same physical external diameter as the “Classic” this means that each section has a lower wall-thickness. Just beware of this. It is designed for /P operation. If you want a permanently mounted DX Commander, you will be better off with the original “Classic”. That product is here:
