The morning was beautiful… I could not just stay home and waste the day doing chores. I flew my drone for a few minutes to get a look at the Bitterroot Mountains then I started loading for my day trip to Ambrose Saddle. It’s about 12 miles from my home. It’s not very high .. maybe 4500′?? I wanted to show the scenery as I rode. So I strapped my old GoPro to the front of my ATV and headed out. Most of this video is the scenery from the ATV ride. Radio conditions were very poor. This was the most difficult activation I have ever done. To qualify as an activation, I needed to make 10 contacts. In 3 hours I only made 9 contact on HF CW and 1 contact on 2m FM. But the ride and views made up for the poor radio conditions.
