So while driving to Oklahoma for work I was able to knock out a POTA activation in Kansas which is one of only 5 states that do not have Summits. I went to Meade State Park around Meade Lake and was able to get a twofer with K-2344 & K-7433. I used my IC-705 and my homebrew resonant dipole for 20m and while running 5 Watts QRP on single side band I made 17 contacts in about 27 minutes in fairly heavy traffic for a Sunday. This setup has worked quite well recently and is really easy to set up as long as my throw rope gets in the tree where I want it to go. Lets see how this park went.
