Enthusiastic Steve reviews/tests and re-programmes the “Retevis RB618” PMR / FRS radio for the Amateur and HAM 70cm band.
If you are in the UK, Europe or the USA this radio has a lot to offer. Not only is it a 16 channel PMR radio here in the UK and Europe, it comes as a FRS version for use in the USA.
That is all well and good but with some generic software I discovered you can change the radio settings and frequency settings to allow it to be used on the Amateur and HAM 70cm band.
This opens up many uses of this compact and surprisingly cheap handheld radio.
