Finally got a chance to venture into Maine and do a Summit and a Park activation while here. Initially I intended to do them both at the same time but alas the POTA was not located in the Summit activation zone and with the bugs didn’t look like a hospitable place to set up for the Park. After a bad band condition for the SOTA I decided to head towards the border and do the POTA at Ft. McClary instead of near the summit.

I was running QRP with 5 watts on my IC-705 and the PackTenna 9:1 random wire for the SOTA and then I switched to my resonant dipole for the POTA activation. On a bright note I did get a DX station in France as my last contact at the POTA site. This is now my 37th state plus the District of Columbia wildcard for Parks On The Air and my 33rd state for Summits On The Air now activated.
