Yaesu FT-891 for base station and backpacking

I like to hike to mountain summits and participate in the Summits On The Air (SOTA) extension of amateur radio. The FT-891 is my go-to rig for backpacking. In fact, I have one in my truck and one in my backpack. The backpack rig is currently standing in for my FTdx5000MP, which got damaged by RF in the shack. It’s great how the FT-891 can go back and forth between the backpack and the desktop in seconds, including a changeover from hand mic to desk mic and vice versa.
