I’ve had several viewers comment about their frustration with the Yaesu FT-891, when changing the band and operating mode. The normal workflow is to tap the Band button to change the band and long press the same button to change the operating mode. This can seem cumbersome while driving, using the FT-891 as a mobile transceiver.
In this video I show how I use the FT-891 as a mobile unit with relative ease. In fact, I use this same workflow while operating the FT-891 as a base station. Hint: I almost never touch the Band button, except during initial setup.
