Wilderness Protocol Schedule Options:

– Every three hours, on the hour, for five minutes (least drain on the battery)
– Every three hours, on the hour, for ten minutes (5 minutes before the hour through 5 minutes after the hour)
– Every hour, on the hour, for five minutes
– Continuous monitoring (greatest drain on the battery!)

Basic 5-minute procedure:

– Listen to the frequencies for four minutes
– Call for traffic, listen for 30 seconds
– Call once more for traffic and listen for 30 seconds
– Turn radio off until the next monitoring interval
